If you're curious about itunesdb.com, it was a site I put up back in May 2003, just after Apple released a version of iTunes (4.0, as I recall) that allowed users to stream music from other people's iTunes libraries over the internet. You can still do this today with iTunes, but it's limited to within your own sub-net, not internet-wide. My site was designed to allow people to find other iTunes users, who at that time were Mac-only, who willingly published their IP addresses on my site and welcomed others to connect to and listen to the music in their iTunes libraries.

Unfortunately, within a week, someone had released a program that allowed people to copy music from other people's libraries. This was never the intent of my site. And because I wanted Apple to succeed with iTunes and the iTunes Music Store, I took the site down. It was only up for a week, but even now, after almost five years, people, such as yourself, still get directed here.

That's why I've put up this message. The link above just goes to my personal site, which has nothing to do with iTunes.
